Mavrou Pitsa
Painter and engraver Pitsa Mavrou – Brebou was born in Athens in 1940. She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Yiannis Moralis, engraving under K. Grammatopoulos and stage design under V. Vassiliadis.
She presented her works in solo exhibitions (Astor art gallery – 1971, Ora art gallery – 1974, Zygos art gallery – 1983) and took part in group exhibitions, including the Pan-Hellenic Exhibitions of 1965, 1969, 1971 and 1975, the Alexandria Biennale in 1972, the Carpi Triennale in 1972 etc. She was a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece, of the Artistic Association of Greek Women and of F.I.C.F. (Women’s International Cultural Federation). Pitsa Mavrou died in Athens in 1984.
