Iris – Daphne Drakouli was born in 1929 in Athens. She studied painting in the workshop of Yiannis Moralis and engraving (1958 – 1960) in the workshop of Jean Kefalinos at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1948 – 1956).

She was granted a scholarship by the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) and continued her studies in lithography, at the École des Arts Décoratifs, in Paris.

She has presented her work (engraving, painting) in solo and group exhibitions, and has taken part, among others, in the Pan-Hellenic exhibitions (1957, 1963, 1965, 1975), and in important international events. She has also worked with the batik technique. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
