Antipa Kaiti
Painter and engraver Kaiti Antipa was born in 1925 in Crete. She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1943 – 1947) under K. Parthenis and then in Paris in the workshop of F. Leger (1947 – 1948).
Her work also includes wall constructions made of iron and wood. She presented her work in many solo exhibitions (Merlin art gallery – 1965, Σύγχρονη Χαρακτική art gallery – 1980, Medusa art gallery – 1983, 1987, 1991, etc.), in Pan-Hellenic exhibitions (1948, 1952, 1967, 1987), in thematic group exhibitions and in major international events, such as the Baden-Baden Engraving Biennale (1981), the Ljubljana Biennale (1983, 1987), the Fredrikstad Biennale (1986, 1992), the Krakow Biennale (1986, 1988), the Intergrafik Berlin (1987, 1990), etc.
Kaiti Antipa died in Athens in 2006. She was a member of the “Armos” group and the “Association of Contemporary Art”.
