Biographies
Markaki Jenny
Engraver and painter Jenny Markaki was born in Athens in 1939. She studied engraving and artistic typography at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1961 – 1965) under K. Grammatopoulos. She taught for 30 years in secondary education and has also worked as an illustrator.
She has presented her work in many solo and group exhibitions, including the Pan-Hellenic Exhibitions of 1963, 1965, 1967, 1969, 1975, 1987, the exhibition Contemporary Greek Art at the Famagusta Gate in Nicosia and the exhibition held at the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum (1988), etc.
She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and curator of Engraving. She organized the exhibition “Panorama of Greek Engraving” which was held at the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens in December 2008.
