Lefkochir Costa was born in Heraklion, Crete in 1952. He studied painting and graphic arts in Belgium, at the Liège Academy of Fine Arts (1971 – 1976).

He has settled permanently in Belgium and, since 1980, he has held several solo exhibitions in Greece (Athens and Heraklion) and mainly abroad (Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Brussels). He has also taken part in numerous group exhibitions and international events such as the ARCO International in Madrid (1986), the Stockholm Art Fair in Stockholm (1991), the exhibition Grands et Jeunes d’Aujourd’hui at the Grand Palais in Paris (1992), the exhibition at the Musée d’art moderne et d’art contemporain in Liège (1995) etc. He is a member of the group Atelier 18.
