Painter and sculptor Ioanna Babari, was born in Athens in 1954. She studied painting and sculpture in Paris and Canada, and she also was (for 7 years) an apprentice and assistant to sculptor and painter Alwyn.

She studied theatre (Stanislavsky method) and worked in the movies. Since 1983, she has taken part in Pan-Hellenic exhibitions, in group and solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad. In 2000 she founded the Arts Centre “Philochoria” in Megalochori, Santorini. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
