Carnemolla Andrea
Theorist and painter Andrea Carnemolla was born in Chieti, Italy in 1939 and studied Philosophy and Aesthetics at the University of Naples. In 1968, he started exhibiting his paintings in Italy where he was awarded the “Francesco Paolo Michetti” prize.
He travelled to Paris (1980), where he met Iurgis Baltrusaitis and had a significant theoretical contribution to the study of perspective and its “anamorphosis”. After a solo exhibition with his works held in Heraklion in 1982, he returned to Crete in 1996, where he settled permanently.
Since then, his works have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions mainly in Greece and Italy. His theoretical work remains important.
