Georgiadis Georgios

Sculptor Georgios Georgiadis was born in Athens in 1934. He studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Giannis Pappas (1954 – 1959) and, after having been granted a scholarship by the Eugenides Foundation, he continued his studies in Florence, specializing in the technique of metal. In 1975 he received a grant from the Ford Foundation.

He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad as well as in international events, including the Paris Youth Biennale in 1960, the Alexandria Biennale in 1976 (2nd prize), the Venice Biennale in 1984, the Exposition Internationale de Sculpture Contemporaine in Paris, and the Les Arts en Europe exhibition in 1976 in Brussels (1st prize).  Between 1960 and 1980 he taught design at the Doxiadis School and the Petras School. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and the Greek Sculptors Association.
