Mortarakos Kyriakos
Kyriakos Mortarakos was born in Athens in 1948. He studied painting and stage design at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1970 – 1976) under Y. Moralis and V. Vassiliadis, and fresco (1975 – 1977) under of K. Xynopoulos.
He has held solo exhibitions in Greece and the USA and has taken part in many group exhibitions and international events, in Greece and abroad (Denmark, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, USA), the VI International Pleinair, Reference to Otto Dix, Rudolstadt, Gera, Germany – 1990, the Kunst Europa at the Kunstverein Kunsthalle in Berlin – 1991, the exhibition Welcome Europe at the Hjørring Kunstmuseum in Denmark – 1992, the Arco 92 at the pavilion of the Gallery Epikentro in Madrid, at the Festival of Classical Theatre in Merida, Spain in 2001, etc.).
Since 2005 he is a full professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Visual and Applied Arts. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
