Efthymios Papaioannou was born in Piraeus. He studied painting while working in mosaic workshops. From 1993 onwards (working in his private workshop in Athens), he has undertaken several projects for churches, monasteries, public buildings in Greece and abroad (Cyprus, Switzerland, Venezuela, England).

His work has been recognized by the Academy of Ecclesiastical Arts of the Archdiocese of Athens. He has also taught Aesthetic and Cultural Education in Adult Education (Second Opportunity Schools) and for two years he was in charge of the mosaic department of the Art workshops of the Municipality of Lamia. He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions and he is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
