Perivola Efthymia (Mia)

Mia (Efthymia) Perivola was born in New York in 1942. She studied Art History at the Wellesley College Boston (1960 – 1962) and engraving and painting at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste (1963 – 1968) under M. Melcher. She continued her studies in engraving at the École des Beaux-arts in Paris (1972 – 1975) under J. Lagrange.

She has presented her work in Athens in solo exhibitions at Nees Morfes art gallery (1969, 1980, and 1986), at Ora art gallery (1976) and at art galleries in Kyoto, Japan in 1970 and Vienna in 1975. She has participated in group exhibitions including the Sao Paulo Biennale (1969), the Ljubljana Biennale (1987), the Intergrafik in Berlin (1990), and the large exhibition dedicated to Post-WWII Engraving which was organized by the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum in 1988. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
