Sideris Takis

Takis Sideris’ family comes from Asia Minor. However, he was born in Athens in 1929. Between 1949 and 1951 he studied violin at the Hellenic Conservatory and from 1955 to 1960 he was an apprentice to G. Sikeliotis.

His first solo exhibition took place in 1963 (Architektoniki art space). He then held solo exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion, Crete (Ora art gallery – 1969, 1974, 1979, Nees Morfes art gallery – 1976, 1979, Basilica of St. Mark in Heraklion – 1977, Panselinos art centre in Thessaloniki – 1980, Medusa art gallery – 1981, Chrysothemis art gallery – 1982, 1989, 1995, 1996, 1997, etc.). From 1960 to 1975 he participated in Pan-Hellenic exhibitions and he often took part in group exhibitions.

He is member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece. He has taught drawing and painting in a private school in Athens; he has illustrated books, vinyl album covers, greeting cards and has written poetry and texts on painting.
