Xenaki Psimara Marianna
Marianna Xenaki – Psimara was born in Athens in 1938. She studied painting and engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Y. Moralis and K. Grammatopoulos (she graduated in 1962). She continued her painting studies at the École des Beaux-arts under R. Cami and G. Dayez and she also studied graphic arts at the École Estienne and stage design at the theatre school of P. Katselis.
She is more interested in lithography and woodcut and she has worked as a professor in secondary education. She has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and has participated in national and international events including the Pan-Hellenic Exhibitions and the Engraving Biennale in Sao Paulo (1969), in New Delhi (1977), in Ljubljana (1989) and in Varna (1989).
She has received awards for her work (silver medal, Palazzo dell esposizioni in Rome – 1962) She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and of the Greek Printmakers’ Association.
