Christos Daglis was born in Ioannina in 1916. He studied painting under Konstantinos Parthenis and engraving under of Jean Kefalinos at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1938 – 1942). At the outbreak of WWII he was sent to Corfu as soldier and then he left for Ioannina, where he joined the local organization of the National Liberation Front and contributed in the the newspaper “O Agonistis” (Ο Αγωνιστής).

During WWII, he participated actively in several resistance groups and in May 1944 he was arrested and transferred to Goudi prison where he was held at the infamous “death row cell”. In 1946 he was sent to Evdilos, Ikaria and then to the concentration camps of Makronisos and Agios Efstratios. During his exile he helped organise and created the stage designs for theatrical performances and he also produced engraving artworks. In 1961 he left for Paris and Rome and returned to Greece in 1974.

He presented his work in several solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and he also took part in international events including the Salon de l’Art Libre in Paris (1959), the Alexandria Biennale (1959), the Exhibition of Greek Engravers in Stockholm (1960), etc. Christos Daglis died in 1991. He was a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
