Stella Bolonaki was born in 1963 in Heraklion, Crete. She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1986 – 1990) and Public Art at the Chelsea College of Art & Design in London. She continued her postgraduate studies in Architecture at the University of London (East London University) and at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens specialising in public space architecture.

She has been presenting her work in solo exhibitions since 1989 and has taken in group exhibitions and international events. She has won awards in several public art competitions (Athens-Piraeus Railway Company, Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Athens and the Royal London Hospital). She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
