Gratsias Dimitris

Dimitris Gratsias was born in 1938 in Athens. He studied painting, decoration and stage design under Yiannis Moralis and V. Vassiliadis at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1961 – 1967). He continued his studies in ceramics in London at the Camden Arts Centre. He presented his work in solo exhibitions in Greece and London and in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

He also took part in important international events, including the 6th Polish Print Triennial (2006), where he received an award. He was a full Professor of Basic Design at the Department of Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts and Design, Technological Education Institute of Athens (1977 – 2004). He died in Athens in 2010. He was a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece. His last retrospective exhibition took place in 2009 at the Municipal Gallery of Corinth.
