Petropoulou – Dimitraki Mimi

Dimitra Petropoulou – Dimitraki was born in Athens in 1945. She studied engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts under K. Grammatopoulos (1969 – 1973) on a scholarship granted by the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.).

She has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and has also participated in many international events and exhibitions, such as the engraving exhibitions at the National Museum in Warsaw, Poland and in Moscow in 1988, the Engraving Biennale of Czechoslovakia in 1992 and the Alexandria Biennale in 2011, the exhibition of contemporary engraving in Shanghai, China (2013), the engraving exhibition “Contemporary Greek Engraving in Bulgaria” which was held at Lessedra art gallery in Sofia (2011), etc.

She has taught art history and art in secondary education and has also published articles on education and art courses in the journal Eikastiki Paidia (Εικαστική Παιδεία). She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece (and for several years she served as elected member of its Engraving department) and of the Greek Printmakers’ Association.
