Vlassis Aristidis

Aristidis Vlassis was born in Heraklion, Crete in 1947. He pursued independent painting studies painting, initially under the painter Androgeios Alexandridis. His work was presented in solo and group exhibitions both in Greece and abroad (France, Brussels). He was a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece since 1991 and in 1993 he was presented with the “N. Kazantzakis” award by the Municipality of Heraklion in recognition of his contribution in the arts.

A large retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the Basilica of St. Mark in May 2015, during which he passed away. His works can be found in the National Art Gallery, in the Greek Parliament, in the Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation, in the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation, in bank collections, in the Hellenic Bank of Industrial Development, in the Technical University of Chania, Crete as well as in private collections in Greece, France and Belgium.
