PSYRROPOULOU KARAGIANNI EVDOXIA

Eudoxia Psyrropoulou – Karagianni was born in 1931 in Domeniko, Elassona. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1951 – 1956) in the laboratories of Yiannis Moralis and Spyros Papaloukas and in 1957 she continued her studies in painting and fresco painting at the École des Beaux-arts in Paris.

In 1961, she was granted a scholarship by the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) and studied conservation at the Istituto Centrale di Restauro and fresco at the Scuola San Giacomo in Rome. She took part in the restoration of monuments and works of art in Italy and Greece (Directorate of Byzantine Antiquities). In 1973, she was appointed Head of the conservation unit of the National Gallery of Athens. Since 1982, she has been teaching science at the Athens School of Fine Arts. She has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and has published articles on the conservation of works of art.
