Pavlakis Antonis

Sculptor Antonis Pavlakis was born in 1949 in Stalos, province of Cydonia, Crete. He studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1971 – 1976) under G. Pappas. He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Crete (Stavrakakis Gallery in 1987, the Basilica of St. Mark in Heraklion in 1989, etc.).

He has created important monuments, memorial structures heroes and busts in Crete, including the WWII memorial in Viannos (1996). In addition to sculpture, he is also involved in painting, ceramics and photography, and teaches Arts in secondary education. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
