ACADEMIC STUDIES: Architectural Engineering, National (Metsovian) Technical University of Athens

“I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember. Moreover, when I started working as an architect painting became an indispensable complementary element to my work. I wanted to rescue the old buildings of Heraklion, which were being demolished to make way for new apartment buildings. And since there were quite a lot of them, I had to step up my painting hoping that my efforts would help preserve the memories. This, however, made me love painting as much as I love my profession. Progressively, I became interested in more themes: landscapes, still lives, seascapes, and abandoned settlements that I had come across while travelling in Crete and the rest of Greece. My painting is figurative with abstract elements and I mainly use watercolours and acrylic paints”
